À NOTER : Si vous êtes en Visa de TRANSITO, la sortie est gratuite. Qu’est-ce que ca veut dire? Lorsque vous arrivez à l’aéroport du Costa Rica et que vous mentionnez aller dans la même journée au Nicaragua, ils vont vous donner un visa de TRANSIT. En arrivant à la frontière, vous n’aurez donc pas à payer les frais de sortie.

2️⃣Traversée de frontière et le bus - Étape par étape
Costa Rica-Nicaragua
1) Rendez-vous à la frontière depuis votre destination. Si vous partez de l’aéroport, il faudra prendre un taxi (environ 25 $) juqu’à la station d’autobus au centre de Liberia ( Pulmitan station).
2) Prendre le bus du Pulmitan jusqu’à la frontière Peñas Blancas (border). Environ 2heures et coûte environ 4 $ USD.
3)Traversée des douanes vers le Nicaragua : Voir plus bas pour plus de détails.
4) Sortie du Costa Rica (8 USD, carte de crédit en suivant ce lien https://cutt.ly/bwLBgGns ou 10USD en espèces). Si vous êtes en visa de TRANSITO, la sortie est gratuite !
5) Entrée au Nicaragua : 14 USD (idéalement avoir des petites coupures en argent)
6) Une fois au Nicaragua, prendre un bus jusqu’à Rivas. * Pour aller à San Juan del Sur, voir plus bas.
7) À Rivas, prenez un bus vers votre prochaine destination
*Bus de la frontière jusqu’à San Juan del Sur :
1) Prendre le bus en direction de Rivas et débarquez à la Virgen
2) Traverser la rue pour prendre l’autobus vers San Juan del Sur.
3️⃣Inversement en bus : Nicaragua-Costa Rica
1) Prendre le bus à San Juan del Sur au market, direction La Virgen
2 À votre arrivée à La Virgen , descendez du premier autobus, vous verrez une file d’autobus de l’autre côté, en diagonale sur votre droite. Il vous suffira de traverser la rue pour rejoindre cette file et prendre l’autobus vers Penas Blancas.
3) Arrivée à la frontière, préparez-vous à sortir du Nicaragua : 3+ 1 USD (idéalement avoir des petites coupures en argent)
4) Entrée au Costa Rica (gratuit) - apportez une preuve de départ dans les 90 jours

À la sortie de l’aéroport, votre chauffeur vous attendra avec une pancarte avec le nom avec lequel vous avez fait la réservation.
2. Le chauffeur vous apportera à la douane du Costa Rica pour faire étamper votre passeport pour la sortie du pays.
RAPPEL : comme vous arrivez de la frontière et que vous êtes en visa de transit, vous ne payez pas de taxes de sortie.
*Rembarquez avec le chauffeur, il va vous apporter le plus proche qu’il peut de l’autre frontière.
3. Débarquez du taxi et marchez vers ce signe. Vous devrez montrer votre passeport, pour montrer que vous avez bien votre étampe de sortie du Costa Rica.
Ensuite, dirigez vous vers la douane du Nicaragua.
4. Suivez les pancartes « Bienvenido a Nicaragua» vers la bâtisse blanche.
5. Voici à quoi ressemble la bâtisse blanche de plus proche. Rentrez dans le bâtiment pour passer la douane du Nicaragua.
*Vous devrez payer 1$ + 13$ USD
*Vous devrez donner : Le nom de la ville où vous allez, l’adresse ou le nom de la maison et numéro de téléphone.
6. Vous y êtes presque !!! Une fois étampé, sortez du bâtiment et marchez vers la sortie en suivant les signes de sortie (Salida = sortie)
Vous devrez montrer une dernière fois votre passeport.
Une fois sortie, votre chauffeur vous attendra avec une pancarte avec votre nom ! De plus, le chauffeur du Costa Rica aura envoyé une photo à votre chauffeur du Nicaragua pour vous reconnaître plus facilement.

2️⃣ Border Crossing and Bus - Step by Step
Costa Rica-Nicaragua:
1) Go to the border from your destination. If you are leaving from the airport, you will need to take a taxi (around $25) to the bus station in the center of Liberia (Pulmitan station).
2) Take the bus from Pulmitan to the Peñas Blancas border. About 2 hours and costs around $4 USD.

*Border bus to San Juan del Sur:
1) Take the bus towards Rivas and get off at La Virgen
2) Cross the street to take the bus to San Juan del Sur.
3️⃣ Nicaragua-Costa Rica:
1) Take the bus in San Juan del Sur at the market, direction La Virgen
2) When you arrive in La Virgen, get off the first bus, you will see a line of buses on the other side, diagonally on your right. You will just have to cross the street to join this line and take the bus to Penas Blancas.
3) Arrive at the border, prepare to leave Nicaragua: 3 + 1 USD (ideally have small cash notes)

✨ Crossing the border Step by Step in photos!
1. At the exit of the airport, your driver will be waiting for you with a sign with the name you made the reservation with.
2. The driver will take you to Costa Rica Customs to have your passport stamped for exit from the country.
REMINDER: As you are arriving from the border and are on a transit visa, you do not pay exit taxes.
*Get back on board with the driver, he will bring you as close as he can to the other border.
3. Get out of the taxi and walk towards this sign. You will need to show your passport, to show that you have your Costa Rican exit stamp.
Then, head to Nicaraguan customs.
4. Follow the signs "Bienvenido a Nicaragua" to the white building.
5. This is what the white building looks like from the closer. Enter the building to pass through Nicaraguan customs.
*You will have to pay $1 + $13 USD
*You will need to give: The name of the city you are going to, the address or name of the house and phone number.
6. You're almost there!! Once stamped, exit the building and walk towards the exit following the exit signs (Salida = exit)
You will need to show your passport one last time. Once you get out, your driver will be waiting for you with a sign with your name on it!
